A Day of Rest

Today was an easy relaxing day.  There were no mandatory trips and no mandatory activities.  This is an extremely rare occurrence here in Summer Discovery and I did not waste the opportunity to catch up on some sleep and rest.  Throughout the day I did some laundry and did some quick review for tomorrow’s lecture.   I think I may have finally figured out the relationship between Nodes and Anti-nodes in a wave cycle.

There was a detective here on campus who came to talk to us in the Quad about the security services at Penn.  This was a simple fifteen minute presentation in the courtyard which didn't make much sense to me.  The information was simple but what I didn't understand was why this presentation wasn't given to us when we first arrived here last week.  Also, more than half of everyone in the program wasn't actually   here today.   Most people were at Independence Hall, but I didn't want to go because I had already been there when we visited the first time two weeks ago.

Today was also the moving day for three additional summer programs at Penn.   I’m not sure what they are, but I know for a fact that one of them is a sports program.  It was like being back in high school again at the beginning of a new year, watching the freshmen make a fool of themselves in the cafeteria and not knowing what to do.  It is funny to think that we were all at that moment just only a week ago.   From now on there are going to be a lot more people here.  We’re moving from three-hundred to six-hundred people and I have a feeling that the residence hall is going to become a lot louder.  Before, everyone here was an academic, so there was a general respect for noise control and order, now that the sports people are moving in I feel like that respect is going to disappear. Not that I dislike athletes, I'm one myself but I know that most athletes like to behave a little more aggressive.  I guess we'll find out what happens next after tomorrow.
