Magic Gardens

Our tour guide showing us all the walls Isaiah has created.
In the morning session of class, we split into groups of four and reflected on last week after watching a 23 minute slide show of photos of us. I had a pretty good discussion in my group. After that, we could either go to lunch or stay with one of the teaching assistants to watch a short film. My friends and I decided to stay. It was really interesting. It was titled "We Are Not Your Monkeys" and was about the caste system in India and was in the form of a song in Hindi. We watched it with subtitles and the chant was stuck in my head for hours afterwards!

After lunch, we all met up an hour earlier than usual and immediately got on the trolley back to Center City! This time, we were going to a place called Magic Gardens which is the masterpiece of Isaiah Zagar. He has covered buildings in beautiful mosaics. We learned a lot about him and his story, which was inspiring, and then we got to meet him and learn even more! He was really cool and I feel really grateful that we got to meet him.

When we arrived back at the dorms, those who signed up to go to the Phillies baseball game left again about half an hour later. There was about thirty of us. The game was really fun! The food, as always, was expensive and slightly gross, but it's okay because it's baseball food! The Phillies won, which was fun to see. All of us had a really great time!
Our view of the field!
